Hamilton Fringe Festival

An 11-day unjuried theatre festival that happens every summer in downtown Hamilton

The Hamilton Fringe at 15.

In the summer of 2003, the Hamilton Fringe sprung up in this city like a wildflower pushing up through the concrete – scrappy, spirited, a thing of unexpected beauty.

2018 marks the 15th year for the Fringe, and this festival has been growing into itself in the best possible way. The 2017 festival broke records in attendance and at the box office – with 100% of the net profits going directly into the artists’ pockets. In February 2018, we celebrate the 3rd instalment of Frost Bites. Through the love and support of many in this community, the Hamilton Fringe is growing into a fine young festival.

15 years is no small feat. In fact, many of us in this community have come up right alongside the Fringe. And for so many theatre makers, the Fringe is our first step onto the stage. It is an accessible, inexpensive, exciting way to cut your creative teeth – for artists and audience members alike.

It doesn’t take much to be the much-needed water for that thirsty, growing little wildflower that pushed its way into the Hamilton sunlight 15 years ago. Donate today to help the Hamilton Fringe reach new heights!
